On September 15, the 2020 Global Automobile Logistics Conference (GALC) hosted by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchase (CFLP) and co-organized by China Automotive Logistics Association of CFLP and ITL Group was held in Xi'an.Industry leaders gathered in Xi'an, adding new appeal to this ancient city.This session is built on a theme of "Cross Road: Expansion or Concentration".

The GALC has been successfully held for 14 sessions in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and so forth.It is the first time that the GALC has been held in Xi'an, putting into practice the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping in July 2020 that efforts should be made to nurture a new development pattern that takes the domestic market as the mainstay while letting domestic and foreign markets boost each other.The dual-cycle development is a deeper reform for the Belt and Road Initiative and higher opening up for domestic demand.

On September 8, 2020, the first China Railway Express (Chang'an) (Vienna - Xi'an) Lenzing train slowly arrived at the Xinzhu Station of Xi'an Railway Bureau with a long whistle.

This train started from Vienna and arrived at the Port of Xi'an in China after running 10,460 kilometers in 16 days.The successful dispatching marks that it is the first time for Vienna in Austria to transport its products to China through China Railway Express.It also indicates that new steps have been made toward the capacity cooperation between China and Austria, especially the cooperation in the green and environmentally-friendly fiber industry.

Austria is located in the central area of Europe. The advantageous location allows it to bridge Central and Eastern Europe and Western Europe.Austrian enterprises are outstanding in many fields, such as high technology and environmental protection technology.Notably, Lenzing AG founded in Austria 82 years ago is an international company that produces high-quality fibers with renewable wood and innovative environmental protection technologies.

This train is loaded with 41 containers worth EUR 1.8 million.Lenzing AG offers all goods of the return train.The cooperation between ITL Group and Lenzing AG has put into practice the idea of "environmental protection" and blazed a new pattern for the deep collaboration between the two countries in the future.

It is the first time for Lenzing AG to deliver goods through China Railway Express, shifting its traditional mode of marine transportation.The goods were transported by China Railway Express (Chang'an) all along the journey.The transportation through China Railway Express (Chang'an) can save half of the delivery time compared with marine transportation, guarantee the delivery of goods to terminal customers, relieve the inventory pressure on factories, reduce the logistics cost, and improve the competitiveness of products.

With the increasingly faster work resumption overseas, there are more demands for "goods" transported by return trains. Therefore, China Railway Express (Chang'an) has actively taken in the demands of domestic enterprises for transportation and opened major stations in Europe.The return train was successfully dispatched under the great support of Xi'an Customs District P.R.China, China Railway Xi’an Group Co., Ltd., China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. (CRCT), and CRIntermodal Xi'an Railway Container Terminal.

From January to July 2020, China Railway Express (Chang'an) dispatched 2,065 trains, 1.9 times higher than that of the same period last year; a total of 1.61 million tons of goods were transported, 1.8 times higher than that of the same period last year.It was top-ranked concerning several core indicators, including the dispatched amount, the ratio of the loaded container, and the volume of freight.

Since being launched, the route has been widely welcomed by the market.After nearly one month of preparations andunder the strong support of Xi'an Customs District P.R.China, China Railway Xi'an Group Co., Ltd., andCRCT , the first train with 41 containers for the Central and Eastern Europe Route of China Railway Express (Chang'an) departed the Port of Xi'an with a loud whistle on August 20.

The official dispatching of this train is another solid evidence that China Railway Express (Chang'an) has put into practice the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection visit to Shaanxi.

In the following 13 days, this train will exit the country via the Alataw Pass Port in Xinjiang, pass by Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine, enter Hungary via Záhony-Port, and arrive at the hub Budapest, and then it will distribute goods to Vienna in Austria, Ploieşti in Romania, Milan in Italy, Istanbul in Turkey, etc.

The goods transported this time include four categories, such as photoelectric products, epidemic prevention supplies, high-end apparel, and machine parts, with a total value of around USD 5.5 million.For the Central and Eastern Europe Route of China Railway Express (Chang'an), the reloading at Záhony-Port in Hungary has broken the traditional pattern that goods to Central and Eastern Europe are transferred at Mala, shortened the whole journey, effectively improved transport efficiency, and saved nearly 1/2 of the delivery time for customers in peak seasons.

From September, China Railway Express (Chang'an) will dispatch two outbound trains and one inbound train every week for the Central and Eastern Europe Route. With the Xi'an-Budapest Route as the main route, this train will guarantee the delivery time to the greatest extent, meanwhile, it will make use of the outbound railway network to distribute goods to all over Central and Eastern Europe.

In the future, China Railway Express (Chang'an) - the "Iron Camel" running on Eurasia - will continue to play its role as a logistics channel, attract more Eurasian cities to join the Belt and Road Initiative, and make contributions to building the China Railway Express (Xi'an) Collaboration Center, establishing an efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality international trade channel in inland China, and developing a new development pattern that lets domestic and foreign markets boost each other.
