CRE Train Delivers NEVs to Europe for the First Time

On October 15, the China Railway Express (CRE) (Chang’an) train carrying SMART #1 models produced by Smart Automobile arrived at Duisburg Station in Germany. All customs clearance procedures were completed on October 24 and the models will be delivered to clients. It is the first time that new energy vehicles (NEVs) "made in China" have been exported to Europe via CRE trains, marking the further expansion of commodity categories transported by the trains.

The train departed from Xi'an Guojigang Railway Station, went abroad through the Alashankou Port, passed through various countries like Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and Poland, and finally arrived in Duisburg, Germany. The whole journey took 16 days.

Before this transportation task, Xi'an International Inland Port Multimodal Transportation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Company) had organized a special project team to negotiate with Smart Automobile and invited its delegation to visit the Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park, Xi'an Railway Container Center Station, and the Designated Port for Imported Automobiles in the Port of Xi'an and its automobile testing lines; at the same time, it had actively provided clients with whole-process logistics solutions and completed all operations in strict accordance with the operating standards of China Railway for NEVs to ensure transportation safety and security.

"This journey has opened up a new land logistics channel for the export of Smart's NEVs", said an insider from Smart Automobile. In 2022, after Smart Automobile Xi'an Factory went into operation, it started to design an overseas sales network. "The NEVs logistics and transportation services provided by Xi'an International Inland Port Multimodal Transportation Co., Ltd will further help promote NEVs manufacturers to explore the European market and improve their international competitiveness."
